Flour improver and flour corrector for Kenyan mills: the route via Mombasa
FinaAfric Technical Team26 September 2026

In brief
How a Kenyan flour mill can source a flour improver and a flour corrector from Morocco: Mombasa route, Incoterms, first container and technical support.
Kenya imports a significant share of its wheat, processed by an industrial milling sector established around Nairobi and the port of Mombasa, which also serves as a regional transit point for East Africa. Bread consumption is growing in urban centres, and flour has to suit several uses, from sliced sandwich bread to wheat-based fried and flat breads such as mandazi and chapati.
**The problem a corrector solves.** With wheat cargoes of different origins, the flour changes from one shipment to the next. A flour corrector helps homogenise it: it brings W, P/L and Falling Number back into the target window before the flour leaves the mill. A flour improver adjusts how the flour behaves in the dough.
**How FinaAfric works for a Kenyan mill.** You send your analyses (W, P/L, Falling Number) or a flour sample. FinaAfric formulates a flour corrector in Morocco from those results, validated by a comparative trial baking. A free sample with diagnosis is offered, with no commitment.
**The Mombasa route.** Sea freight from Casablanca to the port of Mombasa. Incoterms EXW / FOB Casablanca, or CIF Mombasa on request. Each shipment goes with the certificate of origin, analysis reports and technical data sheets per batch, and the ONSSA sanitary approval attestation. Confirm the registrations and permits required on the Kenyan side with your customs broker.
**A first test container.** Before any supply agreement, a first test container lets you validate the formulation on your own line, with technical support from FinaAfric engineers. Any quantity is possible, from groupage to a full container.
